About Peacock Midwifery Services

Peacock Midwifery Services was founded with a passion for providing personalized, evidence-based care that honors the unique journey of each client and their family. Based in Silver Spring, MD, we offer comprehensive home birth services, prenatal care, and labor support to families throughout the DC area, as well as Montgomery, Prince George's, Frederick, and Howard Counties. Our founder, Kathy Peacock, began her birth work journey as a Peace Corps volunteer, where she witnessed the strength and power of birth in West Africa. That calling led her to become a student doula at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, then an ICU nurse, and ultimately a certified nurse-midwife. After completing the Nurse-Midwife/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program at Georgetown University and attending her final clinical rotations with a home birth practice, Kathy knew her path was rooted in community-centered care. Our approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and inclusive of all individuals, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, or family structure. We believe everyone deserves respectful, high-quality maternity care, and we're committed to making it accessible through free consultations, payment plans, and the acceptance of electronic transfers.
